Municipal statement on current water situation!

The municipality has noted a misleading statement which was not officially released by the municipality.

As per developments at the Parys water purification plant: electricity has been restored. Water distribution has started to reservoir number 4 in Mandela, with areas such as Winnie, Parys and Tambo expected to receive water drops today. Due to too much sludge in the system, it might take longer hours for most parts of both Parys and Tumahole to receive water with maximum pressure. The team is also prioritizing quality.

The Executive Mayor Cllr Victoria De Beer sends a word of gratitude to residents for their cooperation during these difficult times of floods that caused damages to the municipal infrastructure and residential properties.

The electricity team is also doing well on reconnecting areas that experienced damages during floods.
