Community announcement to residents of Parys and Tumahole

Due to a high voltage cable fault around Parys, some parts of town experienced electricity outages this morning. This had a negative impact on water distribution as the water purification plant was off and water purification process was compromised. Most parts of both Parys and Tumahole are already experiencing water shortages.

Electricity was restored, however, not in all areas. Residents are kindly requested to be patient as there might be electricity ‘on and off’ as the electricity team is currently fixing faults.

Water team has started with water distribution as the water purification plant has been reconnected.

Residents are further advised to adhere to COVID-19 regulations.
