UPDATE: Announcement regarding the fixing of underground pipe.

Residents and motorists are alerted on the road closure of corner Buiten and Water street for excavation work to fix the underground leaking pipes.

Meanwhile, the road remains closed and traffic is channeled into Loop street. The technical team has also discovered a leaking sewer pipe and are fixing both water and sewer pipes at the same time.

In a separate incident, there was an attempt to steal electricity cable at the R59 road and this has left the water purification plant without electricity.

Municipality sends a word of apology to residents for this unforseen inconvenience.
